What We Do

Our T3 Program list is always evolving and is directed by the passions, wants and desires of the seniors we serve.

Our program focuses on four key areas:

• Passion Finder
• Device Training and Trouble Shooting
• Entertainment and Fun
• Content Production and Embracing Social Media Culture

Click on one of the four key areas above or keep scrolling to look though and learn more about all our wonderful initiatives.

Passion Finder

Scheduling an appointment with us is the first and most important step to be connected to our T3 Program.

During your first appointment you will connect with a Community Connections Liaison and talk about your past/current hobbies, desires, and your future goals. This appointment acts as a launching point for all our other programs and initiatives. The importance of the passion finder is to ensure that we tailor your involvement to specific interests, wants, and desires.

We will then use this data to facilitate one of the following things:

Digital Pen Pal: One-On-One interactions
Commitment Level: Low-Medium (1 email correspondence a week minimum)

At our programs core is a desire to connect people, help forge new relationships and combat social isolation exacerbated by COVID-19. That’s why, using our Passion Finder Tool, we plan to connect you with someone that has overlapping interests with you.

Much like a traditional pen pal, correspondence is regulated by connected pairs (though we do encourage once a week at minimum).

Interested in getting a digital pen pal? Send us a message!

Digital Knowers: One-to-Many Interactions
Commitment Level: Low (1 event, opportunity to continue connections made)

Our program recognizes that you as a senior have incredible wisdom, experiences and perspectives that could benefit the wider population. That’s why, using our Passion Finder Tool, we love to connect individuals with opportunities that allow you to share your natural charm, ideas, insights and knowledge in a variety of formats.

Examples could include leading a virtual workshop on how to stay positive or sharing career advice about a previous role, digital art shows featuring seniors’ art/crafts and much more!

Collaborative Groups
Commitment Level: Low (engage at your own desired level).

There’s no point in trying to re-invent the wheel!

One of the biggest benefits of COVID-19 is that it caused an explosion of virtual on-going and pop-up events around all sorts of interests, which you can access from anywhere. Our program hopes to leverage what we know to be participants interests based on data from the Passion Finder Tool and connect them with related events, groups and teams.

Are you hosting a workshop or are a part of a group you think a senior might be interested in? Connect with us and we can share it on our events page!

Device Training and Trouble Shooting

Commitment Level: Medium-High (6-week intensive 30-minute session plus additional special interest sessions).

Next to the Passion Finder Tool, our Training and Trouble Shooting Program is our largest initiative.

We understand that technology has rapidly grown and evolved over the past several decades and don’t expect those joining the program to be overly informed/invested in the latest gadgets. Through the Government of Canada’s New Horizon Grant, we have bulk purchased some of latest iPad (8th generation) and offer a 3-month program for seniors to learn about technology through sessions with a Community Connection Liaison (CCL) on the basics of using a tablet.

We also offer ongoing support and troubleshooting when navigating some of the bumps and challenges most common to new users and can assist in connecting with experts when the issue progresses past our expertise.

Sample programs: iPads 101: Introduction to the iPad, Don’t Shoot the Messenger: The Basics of Facebook Messenger, The Future of Scrabble: Words with Friends and Digital Competency: 5 of the common seniors’ scams and how to spot them.

Are you 75+ and interested in joining our program? Do you know someone who could benefit from the education explained above? Send us a message!

Are you a technology connected business or organization and think your programming may be of interest to seniors? Connect with us about how we can collaborate!

Entertainment and Fun

Commitment Level: Low-Medium (depends on your personal wants/desires)

One of the benefits of technology is the ability to be connected to a virtual community that is forever changing with new experiences and forms of entertainment coming out daily.

Our program offers a variety of events to highlight just how fun and entertaining digital culture can be and is. Putting you in the driver’s seat, this program’s goal is to help you consume and connect around a variety of digital entertainment and social media channels.

From helping you understand and access gaming and online platforms such as apps, streaming platforms, virtual reality, online dating sites, audiobooks, online shopping and the like, there is sure to be something fun for everyone!

Content Production: Embracing Social Media Culture

Commitment Level: Medium (1-2 posts a week)

Connecting to our Entertainment and Fun Program, our Content Production Program is all about helping you shift from being a consumer of digital content to creating your own. Experimenting with new and tried and true tools we aim to provide education (or connecting with knowledge experts) around the basics of digital photography/videography, online editing, 3D printing and more.

We help you use the power of technology to commemorate and archive your experiences, stories, personal histories, recollections, meanings around special artifact and belongings, perspective and thoughts for your families and for historical significance where possible.

The only limits are your imagination!
